Example Code of Conduct for independent groups
This Code of Conduct serves as a guideline for the behavior and interactions within independent groups that are committed to the further education of citizens. These groups utilize a collaborative learning platform as a central tool. The goal is to create a respectful, inclusive and productive environment in which all members can learn and grow.
Core values
Respect and courtesy
- Respectful behavior: Every participant should be treated with respect and courtesy. Different opinions and perspectives are welcome and should be discussed respectfully.
- No discrimination: Discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability or other personal characteristics is not tolerated.
Accessibility & Diversity
- Diversity: The groups should create an inclusive atmosphere in which all members feel welcome and can actively participate.
- Accessibility: The learning platform and all activities should be designed in such a way that they are accessible to people with different abilities.
Responsibility and integrity
- Sense of responsibility: Members are responsible for creating and maintaining a constructive learning environment.
- Honesty: All contributions and discussions should be based on honesty and integrity. Plagiarism and the dissemination of false information are prohibited.
Rules of behavior
Communication
Constructive Criticism: Criticism should always be given constructively and respectfully, with the goal of helping others and enhancing the learning process.
- Active listening: Listening is just as important as sharing information. Members should make sure to let others finish and value their contributions.
Use of the platform - Appropriate use: The collaborative learning platform should be used for its intended purpose. Spam, advertising and irrelevant content are not permitted.
- Data protection: Members’ personal data and information may not be passed on or published without their consent.
Conflict resolution
- Direct approach: If possible, conflicts should be resolved directly and respectfully between the persons involved.
- Mediation: If a direct solution is not possible, a neutral third party should be called in as a mediator.
Consequences of offenses
- Warning: A warning can be issued for minor offenses.
- Temporary suspension: Repeated or more serious offenses can lead to a temporary suspension from the platform and activities.
- Exclusion: Serious or repeated offenses may result in permanent exclusion from the group and the platform.
Final provisions
This Code of Conduct is binding for all members of the independent civic education groups. It should be reviewed regularly and updated as necessary to ensure that it meets current requirements and challenges.
